I design light for public space, performance and art. I've worked as a lighting designer since 2006, with projects spanning architecture, art, exhibitions, public realm, events and site-specific, immersive theatre. I was a Design Associate at the lighting design practice Speirs + Major until 2016 and have been a freelancer since 2017. I am a specialist consultant in research, planning and design for the urban night and was appointed as a Mayor's Design Advocate in 2022.
My work is interdisciplinary. I collaborate with designers, architects, artists, researchers, film-makers, musicians, writers and performers. I aim to explore light and the urban night from every angle, at every scale. I bring architectural and urban lighting design principles to my work in art and theatre, and a scenographic, narrative-led approach to designing for public space and the urban night.
